The Isfahan Metro is the metro system in the city of Isfahan in Iran .

history

In 1988, the Isfahan Municipal Railway Administration was established to promote the construction of a subway. However, construction of the subway did not begin until 2001. The track network was designed in standard gauge . On October 15, 2015, a first section of eleven kilometers was opened.

At the moment there is only one route that should be extended at both ends. The last extension opened on July 10, 2018 and now ends at the Soffeh long-distance bus station . In addition, further routes are to be built and the subway to be expanded into a network.
