The UEFA Champions League magazine was a sports program on ZDF on Wednesday evening. It first aired on September 19, 2012. It served as preliminary coverage for the live broadcasts of the UEFA Champions League .

concept

As a public television broadcaster, ZDF is no longer allowed to broadcast advertising after 8 p.m. Since the broadcast rights for the UEFA Champions League are expensive, the idea was to broadcast the commercials in advance of the games. For this reason, the moderators of the live broadcast, Oliver Welke or Jochen Breyer with expert Oliver Kahn , reported from the stadium of the game at 7:20 pm for a quarter of an hour. The program contained short reports in the form of films, as well as interviews and analyzes.

From September to December 2010 , the private broadcaster kabel eins broadcast a similarly designed magazine under the title ran - Champions League Magazin . The show was moderated by Andrea Kaiser .

Moderators

The show was moderated by either Oliver Welke or Jochen Breyer . Oliver Kahn was the expert in every program .
