The UHC Biel-Seeland is a Swiss floorball club from Biel . It emerged from the merger of UHC Ipsach, Devils Scheuren and Sharks-Semer Biel.

Biel-Seeland played earlier in the National League B . Today the men's team plays in the 2nd league large field.

history

founding

The club emerged from the merger of the clubs UHC Ipsach, then National League B, the Devils Scheuren and the Sharks-Semer Biel. Since the UHC Ipsach was registered for the National League B, the newly founded club was able to compete in the second highest division.

The club from Biel finished the second season in last place. Over the entire 1997/98 season, the Zealanders managed only one win and one draw. The remaining 16 games were defeated by the UHC against opponents such as Floorball Köniz , UHC Flamatt-Sense and UHC Lok Reinach . With three points, the club then rose to the first division large field.

Ascent and descent

The men then played five years in the 1st league large field without any notable success. In the 2001/02 season the Bielers managed to qualify for the promotion games, which were lost to the UHC Einhorn Hünenberg .

National League B and 1st League

The 2003/04 season played the UHC Biel Zealand back in the National League B . In 2004/05 , the Biel-based club struggled to keep up with their opponents in the National League B and ended the qualification with eight points in last place. After the relegation poule, the club was still in last place and had to compete in the promotion and relegation games against UHC Grünenmatt . In the best-of-three series, the Zealanders lost to the Bernese with 10: 3 and 10: 6. The UHC Biel-Seeland is relegated to the third highest Swiss uni hockey league.

Descents

After the end of the bad 2006/07 season, the Bielers even relegated to the 2nd league Grossfeld. After a table place in midfield in the 2007/08 season, the 08/09 horror season followed. The UHC Biel-Seeland was able to win only five games out of 18 games and ended the season with 12 defeats in the last place, which means relegation to the 3rd division large field.

In the third division the UHC Biel-Seeland dominated in the first season and was able to take first place with 16 wins from 18 games. This enabled the men to return directly to the second division. After another weak season in the second division, the men relegated again to the third division. In 2011/12, Biel-Seeland just barely missed promotion to the 2nd division. A year later, the club secures the group victory with 30 points and is promoted back to the second division.

2nd league

In the second division, Biel-Seeland had a convincing season in 2013/14 and was allowed to take part in the promotion playoffs due to the fact that a top team was not available. There the Bieler failed because of the Black Creek Schwarzenbach. In the following season Biel-Seeland confirmed the performances from the previous season and had to admit defeat to Black Creek Schwarzenbach again in the promotion playoffs.

In 2015/16 the club was assigned to another 2nd league group by Swiss Unihockey and could not play for promotion. The same happened in the 2016/17 season. The men's team finished the season in sixth place.
