The UH Appenzell is a floorball club from the same Swiss town of Appenzell . The women's team plays in the National League B . The men's team plays in the 2nd division.

history

founding

The club was founded on January 14, 1994 and took part in the Swiss floorball championship for the first time in the 1994/95 season. In 2019 the club had 300 members and in the 2019/20 season had 15 teams spread across various leagues and junior classes.

Ladies

In 2009 and 2011 the A-Juniors celebrated the Swiss championship title. After the U21 juniors rose to strength class A in 2013, a large field women's team was registered for the first time. Already in the first 2013/14 season, he was promoted to the first division.

Promotion to the national league

After four years in the 1st league and a successful 2017/18 season, the women were promoted to the National League B. By increasing the National League B from eight to ten clubs, the group victory in the 1st League Grossfeld was enough.

In their first season (2018/19), the women immediately reached the playoffs, where they were only eliminated in the semi-finals against the later promoted Sportiva Unihockey Mendrisiotto.

In their second season (2019/20), the team also managed to qualify for the playoffs. In the playoffs they did not lose a game in the quarter and semi-finals and thus qualified for the finals against the floorball riders. Due to the corona virus, the season was ended prematurely and the title of NLB champion was not awarded.

Men's

In the 2000/01 season, a men's team took part in Grossfeld Spielbetrieb for the first time. In 2013/14 the men celebrated the group victory in the 3rd division. Two years later, he was promoted to the 2nd division large field.
