ULAS J101821.78 + 072547.1 is a brown dwarf of the spectral class T5 in the constellation Leo . Due to the relationship between absolute brightness and spectral type, its distance is estimated to be around 30 to 50 parsecs . The high brightness measured in the K-band and a narrow peak in the Y-band indicate that it is a relatively metal-rich object. The property was designed by Lodieu et al. Discovered in the data of the UKIRT Infrared Deep Sky Survey (UKIDSS) Large Area Survey (LAS) Data Release 1 (DR1) and published in 2007.
