UNDAC (UN)

The Disaster Assessment and Coordination teams of the United Nations ( UNDAC teams , English: United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination teams ) are specialized response teams that perform the quick exploration and coordinate relief efforts during disasters. The teams are provided by the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) of the UN Emergency Aid Coordinator .

Such a team can be sent to the crisis region in the event of a disaster or after a request for help . There are 214 members ready for action (as of April 30, 2007).

UNDAC teams are to coordinate international aid on site. You decide if a pre Dovetailed use Coordination Center (OSOCC, English: On-Site Operations Coordination Center ) is established.
