UNIDOC is an XML-based standard to support electronic data interchange ( EDI ) in business transactions between retail companies. In contrast to other XML-based EDI formats such as B. ebXML , RosettaNet or openTRANS , UNIDOC manages with a single structure ("all in one").

UNIDOC message types

Electronic business documents are called message types within UNIDOC files. The respective message type ("document type") is specified in the header. The names of the message types are based on the six-digit abbreviations known from the EDIFACT standard (“qualifier”). In version 2.0 15 different ones are defined:

  • CORINV = correction invoice
  • DELFOR = delivery forecast
  • DESADV = despatch advise
  • IFCSUM = Ladungsverzeichnis / Bordero (forwarding and consolidation summary)
  • IFTMIN = transport instruction (transport instruction)
  • INVOIC = invoice and credit note
  • INVRPT = inventory data (inventory report)
  • ORDCHG = order change
  • ORDERS = purchase order
  • ORDRSP = order confirmation (order response)
  • OSTRPT = order state report
  • PRICAT = article master data (pricelist and catalog)
  • RECADV = goods receipt notification (receipt advise)
  • REMADV = payment notification (remittance advise)
  • SLSRPT = sales report
