US Chaouia
The Union Sportive des Chaouia (US Chaouia) is an Algerian football club from Oum el Bouaghi . He plays his home games at the Stade Hassouna Zerdani .
The club was founded in 1936 and mostly plays in the lower leagues in Algeria. It was not until the early 1990s that they made it to the Ligue Professionnelle 1 . In 1994 they surprisingly won the national championship, in the same year they also won the Algerian Supercup . With the success they were able to qualify for the African competitions, where they could reach the quarter-finals in the CAF Cup in 1994. After the successes, the club slowly went downhill. Between 2013 and 2016 Chaouia played for three seasons in Ligue Professionelle 2 , Algeria's second division, before relegating to the National Amateur Division in May 2016 .
