UTE (Administración Nacional de U sinas y T rasmisiones E léctricas) is a state-owned Uruguayan energy company .

UTE was founded as a legal entity under public law on October 21, 1912 by law No. 4.273. It has had its current name since it was renamed in Law No. 14.235 of July 25, 1974. The legal basis is the Organization Act No. 15.031 of July 4, 1980. The legal seat of UTE is in Montevideo . The company's headquarters are located in the so-called Palacio de la Luz . Gonzalo Casaravilla is the current President of the company's five-member Board of Directors . The position of Vice-President is held by César Briozzo . The company's slogan is: La energía de todos .
