The Ua (Uʻa, hua) is a stick club from Easter Island (Rapa Nui).

description

The Ua consists of the hard wood of the Toromiro tree. The handle is round. The impact head is round and widened. Janus-headed stylized faces are carved out on the front and back of the head . The eyes of the faces are made of bone and obsidian . Due to the extreme shortage of wood on Easter Island, the Ua was an expensive weapon that was only available to the chiefs as a professional weapon. Exact photos (see web links). The Ua is used by the indigenous people of Easter Island.
