Uckermarker
The Uckermarkers , named after the landscape of the same name in Brandenburg, were recognized as a breed of cattle in 1992 . The breeding line was created in the early 1970s as genotype 67 through systematic crossing of the Simmental and Charolais breeds . The breed is primarily distributed in the federal states of Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It is a down to earth breed with good rearing performance and high adaptability. Uckermarkers are beef cattle. The bulls weigh up to 1,300 kilograms. Uckermarkers are often polled, benign and have a high proportion of meat in the slaughter weight.
