The Uda Bay ( Russian Удская губа ) is a bay in the west of the Sea of Okhotsk .
The Uda Bay is bounded in the east by the archipelago of the Shantar Islands . In the north the bay extends to Cape Madschalinda ( ⊙ ), in the east to Cape Malaya Duganja ( ⊙ ). Tugur Bay is further east .
The Uda Bay has a depth of about 75 km and a maximum width of about 65 km. The maximum water depth is 36 m. The Uda Bay is ice-covered between October and June. The spring tide reaches heights of 6.1 to 7.3 m, the nipp tide a height of about 4.2 m. The coast is mostly elevated. The main rivers that flow into the bay are the Uda and Torom . Other notable tributaries are the Tyl , Al and Kiran . Located on the coast east of the village Udamündung Chumikan , the same administrative center of the Rajons Tuguro-Tschumikanski is.
Wildlife
Beluga whales gather in Uda Bay in spring and summer to hunt fish on their way to their spawning waters in the estuaries of the larger rivers . Bowhead whales can be found in Uda Bay in summer and autumn .
