Udo Zempel

Udo Zempel (born March 27, 1925 in Magdeburg ; † February 1, 2012 ) was a German politician (SPD). He was the district administrator of the Wesermarsch district and a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament.

Zempel attended high school. From 1942 on he was in military service, from which he was dismissed in 1945 with serious war damage (80 percent). He then completed a degree at the Oldenburg University of Education . From 1949 he worked as a teacher, from 1955 as a secondary school teacher. From 1960 until he was elected to the state parliament in 1974, he was rector of the secondary school in Rodenkirchen . Zempel was a member of the Education and Science Union . From 1960 to 2011 he was councilor of the Stadland community, from 1968 to 2001 a member of the district council. From 1974 to 1990 Zempel was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament for the Wesermarsch constituency ; from 1982 to 1990 he was Chairman of the Committee on Ports and Shipping. Since 1986, Zempel was also district administrator of the Wesermarsch district.
