The Uelzener Rambour is a table and commercial apple widespread in northern Germany and a popular fruit variety. One of the main growing areas is the Lüneburg Heath. The tree is considered robust and vigorous and needs a sunny to partially shaded location.
The Uelzener Rambour is originally a chance seedling, from the time before 1900 from the garden of a Frau Mass in Wrestedt near Uelzen .
The fruits are mostly medium to large in size and immediately catch the eye with their intense red skin. The firm, juicy, green to yellowish-white firm pulp is very aromatic and has a sweet or sour taste. The fruits are ready for harvest from October. Thanks to its long shelf life and durability, it is ready for consumption from October to January.
