Butterbur in the bank area

Riparian perennial corridors as plant communities are tall perennial corridors on flowing water - and backwater - banks and show butterbur corridors ( Chaerophyllo-Petasitetum ), nitrophytic riverbank perennial, fringing and veil communities ( convolvulion ).

In the case of locations in near-natural running waters or backwaters, for example, these were protected in Saxony according to Section 26 of the Saxon Nature Conservation Act (SächsNatSchG, also NatSchG-SN), valid from 2007 to 2010.

Since 2010, protection has been guaranteed by Section 30 of the Federal Nature Conservation Act (BNatSchG), supplemented by the state nature conservation laws.
