Ufuq eV is a recognized provider of free youth welfare and is active in political education and prevention on the topics of Islam , Islamophobia and Islamism . With its offers, it is aimed at educators, teachers and employees of authorities. Ufuq is Arabic and means "horizon". The association, which was founded in 2007, is based in Berlin (with a Bavarian branch in Augsburg that has existed since October 2015).

activity

Ufuq eV tries to find alternatives to the excited debates about " parallel societies ", religiously based radicalization and an alleged Islamization of Germany. The association works at the interface of political education, pedagogy, science and political debate and provides information, advice and support in the challenges that can arise in educational work in the migration society.

The association offers advice and training, workshops for young people and materials. He is a founding member of the Federal Working Group on Religiously Based Extremism and is also active on the board there. Since February 2015 Ufuq eV is part of the program “Live Democracy!” Funded by the Ministry of Family, Seniors, Women and Youth. The association received an award in 2014 for the workshops “How do we want to live?” By the Alliance for Democracy and Tolerance . A year later he received the Prevention Award of the Berlin State Commission against Violence.
