The collection includes wall and grandfather clocks , Comtoise clocks , iron clocks, Viennese regulators and also a large church tower clock . Kurt Beck began his collecting activity in 1995 with the purchase and repair of a Biedermeier frame clock (approx. 1850) and since then has autodidactically acquired a great deal of practical and theoretical knowledge of clock making. Since 2010 he has also been taking on third-party contracts for the repair and restoration of old watches.

Iron clock, presumably from southern Germany, all parts including wheels and hands made of wrought iron, 4/4 strike on 3 bells, lever escapement, pendulum behind plate, around 1780–1800.

museum

At the beginning of 2018, Kurt Beck founded the “Kurt Beck Watch Museum” foundation to make his collection accessible to the public. The museum finally opened its doors on March 28, 2018 and has since offered the general public a journey through time through the modern history of clocks . The exhibition rooms are located on two floors of a former radio and TV retailer at Lettstrasse 39, very close to the Städtle, the historic center of Vaduz . 200-300 watches from the collection are on display in the museum. A workshop (watch clinic) for revisions and repairs of antiquarian watches and a watch trade are also attached to the museum. On the occasion of the opening, Liechtensteinische Post AG issued a special stamp for the Kurt Beck watch museum .
