use

The Ulanka was introduced into the Prussian army in 1853 and was worn until the end of the First World War . Similar tunics were worn by the Bavarian Chevaulegers and also by the British Uhlans. Some musicians of the Light Cavalry Band still wear it to this day in parade uniform ( full dress ).

The Russian armed forces sometimes use parade uniforms similar to the ulanka , following on from historical uniforms of the Russian Empire .
