Ulf Långbacka

Ulf Långbacka (* 1957 ) is a Finnish-Swedish conductor and composer.

Långbacka was trained at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki . In 1987 he passed his diploma in choral conducting. He was director of the Cantabile Chamber Choir and has been a music editor at Åbo Akademi , Finland's Swedish-speaking academy , since 1991 . He is the conductor of the women's choir Florakören and the student choir Brahe Djäknar . Långbacka was the association conductor of the Finnish-Swedish Choir Association from 1993–1996. He has composed choral works and chamber music, a. a. the doctoral cantata Det inre ljuset (The Inner Light) , written for the 80th anniversary of the Åbo Akademi. Långbacka was also a lecturer in choral conducting at the Sibelius Academy.
