history

Before the development, the street was called Kragujevčki drum . In the city map from 1876 it is called Milanova ulica , after the prince and later king Milan Obrenović. At that time the Terazije belonged to the street and leads to today's Café London on the corner of the intersection with Knez Miloša ulica. On plans from 1905, the road then leads to Slavija.

After the Second World War , the street after Josip Broz Tito was renamed Bulevar Maršala Tita ( Serbian - Cyrillic Булевар маршала Тита ). At the beginning of the 1990s, the name Ulica srpskih vladara ( Serbian - Cyrillic Улица српских владара , "Street of the Serbian Rulers") was used. Today the street bears its traditional name from the end of the 19th century.
