The Ulmer Volksfest is an annual folk festival in the Friedrichsau in Ulm .

history

In 1429 , the future emperor Sigismund granted Ulm permission to hold a fair . The Ulm folk festival takes place in Friedrichsau , lasts 11 days and always ends on Oath Monday at midnight. Since 2019, the folk festival has been taking place the whole week after Oath Monday until Sunday and therefore lasts 17 days. The Ulmer Volksfest is one of the oldest folk festivals in Germany and is visited by around a quarter of a million people every year.

The folk festival is organized by the IG ULM VOLKSFEST. The fair has been carried out by VMV GmbH since 2015.
