Ulrich Baßeler

Ulrich Baßeler (born May 8, 1943 in Leer ) is a German economist and professor a. D. for economics at the Free University of Berlin .

Life

Ulrich Baßeler was born in Leer in 1943. He received his PhD in 1970 at the University of Kiel Dr. sc. pol. He stayed there until 1975 and worked as a teaching assistant. He then accepted a position as professor at the University of Education in Berlin and taught there until 1980. In that year he moved to the Free University of Berlin as a full professor of economics and stayed there until his retirement. He conducted research in particular in the fields of economics and economic theory .

Baßeler was one of the signatories of the Euro-critical manifesto The Monetary Policy Decisions of Maastricht: A Danger for Europe (1992).
