Ulrich Blumenschein

Ulrich Blumenschein (born July 4, 1929 in Mittweida ) is a German journalist .

life and career

Blumenschein was born in Mittweida, where he went to school until he graduated from high school. After an apprenticeship as a radio mechanic, he studied physics and electrical engineering in West Berlin and worked as a reporter for various newspapers. From 1957 to 1960 he was editor at Spiegel , then head of department at Stern for 16 years until he moved to the chief editor from Bunte to Offenburg in 1976 . Most recently, he was the editorial director at Burda in Munich, before settling down as a freelance writer in Ortenau on the edge of the Black Forest.
