Ulrich Grehling
Ulrich Grehling (born June 18, 1917 , † January 24, 1977 ) was professor for violin at the Freiburg State University of Music until his death .
He grew up in Saarbrücken as the son of Johannes Grehling, Vice President of the Reichsbahn district directorate Saarbrücken (until 1945). Together with Fritz Neumeyer , Ferdinand Conrad , Günther Lemmen and Wilhelm Pitz , he co-founded the Saarbrücken Association for Early Music in 1932 . He was concertmaster with the Berliner Philharmoniker from 1942 to 1947 and until 1966 Capella concertmaster of the Collegium musicum of the WDR.
He is the father of the oboist Franziska Grehling.
