Ulrike Kern (born October 25, 1936 ) is a church musician and was cantor at the Frankenberg Church in Goslar until October 31, 2001 .

Musical work

In the 1970s, Kern founded the children's choir at the Frankenberg Church, the number of which doubled after a short time. A few years later, the youth choir emerged from it, which together with the children's choir (and an instrumental ensemble in a changing composition), under the overall direction of Kern, invited to summer and Christmas concerts twice a year. In addition, both choirs played separately from each other at irregular intervals in the services on the Frankenberg. The choirs are now led by Kern's successor, Annette Krieger. Together with her husband, Ulrike Kern shaped the musical work in Goslar for over three decades. With the youth choir she went on choir trips to Leipzig (also during GDR times), Dresden, Heidelberg, Hamburg and Berlin. Not least because of their committed work, the Friends of Frankenberg Church Music , which ensures the survival of church music at the Frankenberg Church, counts citizens from all regions of Germany among its members. Both choirs have appeared on television several times. The composer's portrait of Christian Lahusen recorded on CD (do you remember how it happened?) Is known far beyond the city limits of Goslar.
