Ulrike Schirm , née Ulrike Wolter , (born May 20, 1945 in Berlin ) is a German actress and film critic .

Life

The daughter of the grammar school teacher Kurt Wolter and the freelance journalist Irmgard Wolter grew up in West Berlin and, after graduating from high school, began studying German and theater studies at the Free University of Berlin , interrupted her studies for a semester at the Pedagogical University in Heidelberg and returned in 1974 to Berlin. Her interest in alternative medicine prompted her to train as an alternative practitioner.

Already during her school days she took singing lessons from the opera singer Hildegard Blumer and was taught role-play by her. So her artistic ambition prevailed in the late 1970s and she co-founded a private theater (witch trial) in an old apartment in Charlottenburg . At one of the performances of the so-called "Black Mass" she met the underground filmmaker Lothar Lambert . A friendship developed that led to the collaboration on several films in which she took on leading roles and became known under the stage name "Ulrike S." In the off-theater sector , she not only stood on the stage, but also wrote pieces such as the two-person play Waiting for Clodot and Blöff .

Due to personal differences, she distanced herself from Lothar Lambert and began to work as a film critic and acting coach. In 2008, together with Schwulenberatung Berlin, she staged a fashion show with amateur models under the motto Gay But Not Gray , which took place in the Deutsches Theater . Since then she has been leading acting workshops on a voluntary basis. She is a board member of the Berlin Film and Television Association and writes film reviews for the monthly bulletin.

In 1966 their son Christoph Wellemeyer was born in his first marriage, who also appeared in Lambert's films as a teenager. After the second divorce, she kept the last name Schirm.
