Ulvi Arslan

Ulvi Arslan (born June 28, 1950 in Turkey ) is a German civil engineer specializing in geotechnical engineering and has been a professor at TU Darmstadt since 1995 .

Life

From 1974 Arslan worked as a research assistant at the Geotechnical Institute with Herbert Breth , where he received his doctorate with distinction in 1980 ( on the question of the elastoplastic deformation behavior of sand ).

He has been a university professor since 1994, first at the University of Kassel and then from 1995 at the TU Darmstadt for the field of soil mechanics and geotechnics. From 1999 to 2001 he was dean of the civil engineering department. He is also the managing director of the Institute for Materials and Mechanics in Construction at the TU Darmstadt. In addition, he is also a scientific consultant for the engineering office Prof. Dipl.-Ing H.Quick Ingenieure und Geologen GmbH .

Arslan is a member of the German Society for Geotechnics (DGGT), the Int. Soc. for Soil Mech. and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE), the International Society for Rock Mechanics (ISRM), and the International Association of Engineering Geology (IAEG).
