Ulysses Moore

Ulysses Moore is an adventure series whose books are written by the Italian author Pierdomenico Baccalario . The story is about the fictional village of Kilmore Cove and the doors at the time.

Kilmore Cove

Kilmore Cove is a village in Cornwall , England. Much of the action takes place there. Some of the main characters are currently traveling through the doors to other countries and times. The village is isolated from the outside world and not shown on maps. There is only one road to Kilmore Cove and a disused train station. The imaginary travelers try to protect the village.

The doors at the moment

The plot of the first six books, i.e. the first season, is limited to the doors at the time and their keys. There are several doors currently scattered around the village and each door requires a different key to open. When they are opened, they lead to a distant time and space, with each door somewhere different, and it can only be opened again when the travelers return through them.

The only exception to the doors at the moment is the one in Villa Argo, which can take the traveler to any place he wants, unlike the other doors where only one destination is possible. That is why four keys are required to open this particular door. This door leads to a cave and a lake where a boat called Metis is moored .

characters

  • Jason and Julia Covenant live at Villa Argo but are from London. They are twins and eleven in the first season and 13 in the second. Julia is a little taller than Jason. Both are blonde and have blue eyes. In the sixth book, Julia falls in love with Rick Banner and in the second book of the second season, Anita Bloom becomes Jason's girlfriend.
  • Rick Banner is a year older than the twins and has always lived in Kilmore Cove. He is red-haired and his father died when he was younger. In the sixth book it emerges that his father died while looking for the first key with Leonard Minaxo.
  • Ulysses Moore married Penelope Moore and the two became the owners of Villa Argo. Nestor, Villa Argo's butler, is actually Ulysses Moore, who uses this disguise because the villagers bothered him. After the death of his wife, Ulysses stayed in the villa as a butler.
  • Penelope Moore was Ulysses' wife. He met her on a trip to Venice and they fell in love.
  • Leonard Minaxo is the village's lighthouse keeper and was a member of the imaginary travelers, as was Ulysses and Penelope Moore. Towards the end of the sixth book it is revealed that Leonard is in love with the librarian Calypso.
  • Anita Bloom comes into the story in the second season. She lives with her mother in Venice, Italy, while her father lives in England. She finds a book by a painter who was also a member of the Imaginary Travelers Club, and with the help of Ulysses Moore's diaries she finds Kilmore Cove and the Covenant twins.
  • Nestor is the gardener and butler at Villa Argo.
  • Oblivia Newton is a millionaire who wants to control the doors for now , and also the villain of the first season.

adaptation

In 2010 it became known that a short film was being shot in Liverpool to raise interest in a possible film adaptation of Ulysses Moore. It was said that Disney might be involved.
