Umingmaktuk ("like a musk ox", formerly Bay Chimo Harbor), Nunavut , Kitikmeot region , is more of a traditional Inuit camp than a settlement and is located on the east bank of Bathurst Inlet, immediately before its confluence with the Coronation Gulf, 121 kilometers northeast the Bathurst Inlet Lodge and 193 kilometers southwest of Cambridge Bay . There are no people living there, according to the 2016 Canadian Census by Statistics Canada .

The settlement began in 1964 when the Hudson's Bay Company abandoned its Bathurst Inlet trading post and relocated it to Bay Chimo (but abandoned it for good in 1968). Today there is a co-op shop, a few warehouses, a one-class school and a gravel runway for small planes on site.
