Moving box

A moving box is a transport box in the form of a folding box , which is usually equipped with handle holes and is often made of particularly stable or reinforced corrugated cardboard . It is used in connection with a move for the transport and storage of removal goods. When not in use, it can be easily folded up so it doesn't take up much space.

Folding boxes specially made for removals have since experienced some specializations: In addition to standard folding boxes (dimensions: height and width approx. 30 to 33 cm, length 58 to 66 cm, capacity 50 to 70 liters) there are special "book boxes" which, because of the higher specific gravity of the intended content are smaller and have a reinforced base. Another special production are "clothes boxes", which are about the height of a man and have a hanging clothes rail. Here clothes with the hanger can be hung directly from the wardrobe so that they can be transported hanging and arrive at their destination without creasing. These clothes boxes are particularly bulky, but not particularly heavy because of their contents.

There are also special cardboard boxes for dishes , glasses and bottles, which are usually made of double corrugated cardboard and a more stable base. In addition, this type of moving boxes (also called glass boxes, bottle boxes or crockery boxes) has special dividers made of cardboard that can be individually positioned.

In addition to industrially manufactured moving boxes available in hardware stores or from moving companies , especially smaller moves are carried out with free banana boxes . In the meantime, there are also providers who deliver cardboard boxes or plastic boxes for moving purposes, especially in large cities.

In addition to new boxes, used moving boxes and reusable plastic boxes are also sold and rented.
