Underwurlde

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Underwurlde is a 1984 under the Firebird software posted to label 2D - Jump 'n' Run - computer game , which for Commodore 64 and Spectrum Sinclair ZX appeared. Underwurlde was the official successor to the game Saber Wulf , a successor appeared in the same year under the title Knight Lore .

description

It is a jump 'n' run that switches between the rooms in which the player has to kill three guards with weapons still to be found in order to escape with the protagonist Saber-Man from a dark castle and the caves below. An interesting difference from other similar games was that the collision with the opponents, which the guide described as harpies and gargoyles , wasn't fatal, it just caused the hero sprite to be spun through the air. However, this could quickly lead to an uncontrolled fall into one of the many abysses, which was the only way in the game to perish.

As with many of the games that were released for both the C64 and Spectrum at the time (e.g. Jet-Set Willy or Saber Wulf), the graphics were characterized by an interesting minimalistic - surreal style.
