FLEX is an operating system , which in the 1970s by the company Technical Systems Consultants, Inc. (TSC) for the Motorola - processors 6800 and 6809 was developed.

It is a disk-based operating system for which there were quite a few programming languages. It is considered to be one of the most successful operating systems from the early days of the personal computer .

In 1976, the MiniFLEX 1.0 version appeared for a home computer kit from SouthWest Technical Products (SWTP) in conjunction with 5¼-inch floppy disk drives from Shugart Associates ; it was replaced a little later by FLEX 1.0 . 8-inch floppy disk drives were also supported. The version for the 6809 was called FLEX 9 . In Germany, the operating system was used by Fischer Software Stuttgart to develop pharmacy software. FLEX was developed by Compusense Ltd. offered as an operating system for the Dragon 64 home computer .

FLEX was further developed into UniFLEX - a Unix-like system. Many of the TSC computer languages have been ported to UniFLEX. UniFLEX has practically never been sold.
