The Unidad Nacional de la Esperanza ( UNE ; German National Union of Hope ) is a political party in Guatemala that sees itself as social democratic .

In the elections on November 9, 2003, the party won 17.9% of the vote and 32 of the 158 seats. The presidential candidate Álvaro Colom received 26.4% of the vote in the elections that took place on the same day, but only 45.9% in the second round and was thus beaten by Óscar Berger Perdomo .

In 2007 Colom ran again to elections, which he won in the runoff on November 4, 2007.

In the 2015 presidential election , Colom's ex-wife Sandra Torres ran for UNE and lost the runoff to comedian Jimmy Morales . The party was investigated for illegal campaign funding, donations amounting to the equivalent of around 2.25 million euros are said not to have been reported. Torres describes the investigation as politically motivated. Torres ran again for the UNE in the 2019 presidential election .
