Union of Resistance Forces
The Union of Resistance Forces ( English Union of Resistance Forces , French Union des forces de la résistance , UFR) is an alliance of eight united Chadian rebel movements.
The individual groups are:
- the Democratic Union for Change (UDC) by Abderaman Koulamallah
- the Salvation Front of the Republic (FSR) by Ahmat Hassaballah Soubiane
- the Gathering of Forces for Change (RFC) by Timan Erdimi
- the Union of Forces for Democracy and Development (UFDD) of General Mahamat Nouri
- the Union of Forces for Change and Democracy (UFCD) by Adoum Hassabalah
- the Union of Forces for Democracy and Development-Fundamental (UFDD-F) by Abdelwahid Aboud Makkaye
- the Revolutionary Democratic Council (CDR) by Albadour Acyl Ahmat Achabach
- the Popular Front for National Revival (FPRN) by Adoum Yacoub Kougou .
history
This alliance was founded in mid-January 2009 in Hadjer Marfain in Darfur, Sudan on the border of Chad .
On January 24, 2009 , the individual movements designated Timan Erdimi , the nephew of President Idriss Déby , as the joint President of the Alliance. A few hours after this nomination, Erdimi's eldest sister was murdered in the capital, N'Djamena .
Adouma Hassaballah Djadarab is the movement's first vice-president, Abdelwahid Aboud Makkaye is the second vice-president, the general secretary is Abakar Tollimi , the armed forces commander is Adoum Yacoub kougou and the spokesperson is Abderaman Koulamallah .
