from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The United Freedom Front (UFF) was a small American Marxist organization that was active in the 1970s and 1980s. Between 1975 and 1984, the UFF carried out at least 20 bombings and nine bank robberies in the northeastern United States. The targets of the attacks included courthouses and military facilities. The group's members were eventually arrested and convicted of conspiracy, murder, and attempted murder, among other things. Two of its members are still in custody today.

activity

The UFF was founded in 1975 as the "Sam Melville / Jonathan Jackson Unit", under which name the group carried out an attack on the Massachusetts State House , in the same year it changed its name to "United Freedom Front". The UFF was directed against US foreign policy and racial segregation in South Africa. The group warned of each of its attacks to avoid victims, but more than 20 people were injured in their attacks.
