Universal 3D

Universal 3D ( U3D ) is a file format for 3D data. The format was standardized by the ECMA in August 2005 as ECMA-363. The goal is a universal standard for three-dimensional data of all kinds, which enables a manufacturer-independent exchange. The format proposed by the 3D Industry Forum, in which the following companies are members:

The applications Adobe Acrobat , Adobe Reader from version 7, Adobe Photoshop CS3, Adobe FrameMaker from version 8 and pdfLaTeX already support U3D.
