The Universidad Católica Santa María La Antigua (USMA) is a Roman Catholic private university in Panama City . It was founded on May 27, 1965 as the first private university in Panama .
Today the university has around 5000 students and 500 professors who oversee around 80 courses. In addition to the campus in the capital, the university has four other branches in Colon , David , Chitré and Santiago de Veraguas .
