Ernst Heinrich von Langenau (* around 1700 in Silesia ; † July 25, 1764 in Golzow ) was a Prussian colonel .

Life

Origin and family

Ernst Heinrich was a member of the Silesian noble family von Langenau .

Career

Langenau served in the Prussian Army and , as a major in the Second Silesian War , commanded a grenadier battalion of the Jung-Schwerin infantry regiment , which was composed of the grenadier companies of the Röder and Puttkamer garrison regiments . On June 6, 1750 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel on the occasion of the Magdeburg Revue . On April 20, 1759, he was supplied as chief of the Szczecin Land Regiment . On August 10, 1762, he and his regiment occupied the Kolberg fortress, which had been vacated by the Russians . Langenau was slain with an ax by his servant Stauffenbeil on July 25, 1764 in his 64th year of life and 48th year of service at the Rochow estate Golzow .
