Johann Friedrich Seyfart

Johann Friedrich Seyfart (* 1727 in Halle (Saale) ; † June 30, 1786 ibid) was a German regimental auditor , writer, genealogist and heraldist .

Life

Johann Friedrich Seyfart studied in Halle, then stayed for a while in Erlangen before working as an auditor for the Anhalt-Bernburg regiment stationed in Halle and government inspector.

The writings he wrote are of a military, geographic and regional history.

The first attempts at a systematic description of Prussian generals come from Johann Friedrich Seyfart, who published a series of Prussian regimental histories in 1767, with the biographies of all officers of these regiments in the appendix.
