Thank God Naumann

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gottlob Naumann (born January 6, 1719 in Bautzen , † August 15, 1798 in Berlin ) was a Prussian regimental quartermaster and author of military history.

Life

As the son of the Bautzen citizen and tailor Georg Naumann, born and raised in Bautzen, he went into Prussian military service and advanced to regimental quartermaster. His authorship of the poems of a Bautzener is controversial. He was a collector and editor of the contributions to modern state and war history, which, contrary to the information on the title page, are said to have appeared in Berlin. With two multi-volume works he worked on the Silesian Wars from a Prussian point of view and made a contribution to the historical discourse. He last lived in Berlin.
