Margaret Stride
Margaret Stride (née McGowan; born December 21, 1954 in Simcoe , Ontario ) is a former Canadian sprinter .
At the British Commonwealth Games in Christchurch in 1974, she was eliminated over 200 meters in the preliminary run and won bronze in the 4 x 400 meter relay .
In 1975 she was sixth at the Pan American Games in Mexico City over 400 m and won the Canadian 4-by-400-meter relay.
At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, she reached the quarter-finals over 400 m and was eighth in the Canadian 4-by-400-meter relay.
In 1978 she was eliminated from the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton over 400 m in the semi-finals and won bronze again with the Canadian 4 x 400 meter relay.
