Silesian Wars
In German historiography, the Silesian Wars are three conflicts between the Kingdom of Prussia and the Habsburg Monarchy , which between 1740 and 1763 involved the possession of the Austrian province of Silesia when the first war broke out .
The First (1740–1742) and Second Silesian Wars (1744/45) fell during the War of the Austrian Succession (1740–1748) and mark Prussia's involvement in this dispute. The Third Silesian War is better known as the Seven Years War (1756–1763).
As a result of the First Silesian War, victorious Prussia was awarded most of Silesia and the Bohemian county of Glatz . This acquis was confirmed in the peace treaties of 1745 and 1763.
