The Hebron University ( in Arabic جامعة الخليل; English Hebron University ; HU) is a university in the Palestinian Territories . It is located west of the historic city center on University Street .

The university goes back to the Islamic seminary founded in Hebron in 1971 . In 1980 she was promoted to university. Sheikh Mohammed Ali Al-Ja'bari is considered to be its founder . In 2003 there were 4,200 students enrolled at Hebron University.
