The University Library of Oslo (Norwegian: Universitetsbiblioteket i Oslo, UBO) is the university library of the University of Oslo .

Like the University of Oslo, its library was founded in 1811. The first library manager was Georg Sverdrup . The university library was originally also the national library of Norway and was located on the old campus of the university. In 1913 a new library building was completed at Henrik Ibsens gate . Axel Drolsum was the library manager at the time .

The Norwegian National Library was only founded in 1989, and in 1998 it took over the typical tasks of a national library from the Oslo University Library. Also in 1998, the Oslo University Library moved from Henrik Ibsens gate to its current location, the newly built Georg Sverdrup House, and has since been located on the campus of the new university in the Nordre Aker district .
