University swimming pool in Leipzig
The university swimming pool in Leipzig is a sports swimming pool that was opened in 1971. Unlike the other swimming pools in Leipzig, it is not operated by Sportbäder Leipzig GmbH, but by the Sports Science Faculty of the University of Leipzig .
The swimming pool consists of a 50-meter swimming pool with 8 lanes, a grandstand for up to 300 spectators, a teaching pool, a separate 15 m × 12.5 m diving pool with a 10 m, 7.5 m and 5 m Diving tower and a 1 m, 2 m and 3 m board jumping facility and a flow channel.
The swimming pool is not available to the general public and is only used for research and teaching, club and health sports as well as training and competitions.
Structural matters
The indoor swimming pool has a similar architecture to the indoor swimming pools in Dresden ( Freiberger Platz ) and Potsdam ( Brauhausberg ).
Comprehensive renovation work was completed in 2009.

The following (inter) national sporting events took place in this swimming pool:
- June 4-9, 1985: 36th GDR Swimming Championships
- From May 27th to 30th, 1999: 111th German Swimming Championships
- In April 2015: World Cup in Finswimming
