history

The two-storey baroque building at Ditzinger Strasse 19 was first mentioned in a document in 1716 and was probably rebuilt in 1786. Until the 19th century it was the residence and official residence of the university administrator of the University of Tübingen , who in 1477 received the income from the Sindelfingen monastery in the community. Today the house is privately owned.

After a mighty linden tree in the forecourt, the house was popularly known as the linden tree . In the course of the expansion of the Bundesstrasse 295 (Ditzinger Strasse) that used to pass there, the linden tree was removed at the end of the 1960s and later replaced by a maple tree .
