The University of Palestine ( Arabic جامعة فلسطين, DMG Ǧāmiʿat Filasṭīn ) is a Palestinian university in az-Zahra ' , south of Gaza . It was founded in 2003 under Yasser Arafat and began teaching in 2005.

One of the goals of the university is to "enable an academic education in view of the high population growth and the resulting increasing number of students in Palestine".

The University of Palestine has three faculties with a focus on:

  • Applied engineering
  • Information and telecommunications technology
  • Economy and finance
