Unmoored is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Skövde that was formed in 1993.

history

The band was founded in 1993 by guitarist and singer Christian Älvestam, guitarist Rickard Larsson and bassist Torbjörn Öhrling. Together they developed the first songs and recorded a first demo called Wood Chuck Tune , on which a drum computer was used. In the spring of 1995 a drummer came to the band, after which another demo In the Shadows of the Obscure was recorded in the summer . In the summer of 1997, another demo, More to the Story Than Meets the Eye, was recorded and released. Thus, the band reached a deal with Pulverized Records and went in winter with producer Tomas Skogsberg in the Sunlight Studios to their debut album Cimmerian take. The release was delayed so that the album was only released in the summer of 1999. In the time leading up to the release, the band separated from drummer Niclas Wahlén and was replaced by Jocke Pettersson, co-producer of Cimmerian . In October 1999 the band went to Abyss Studios with producer Tommy Tägegren to record their second album, Kingdoms Of Greed . The album was released in the summer of the following year.

At the beginning of 2001 Henrik Schönström joined the band as the new drummer. Several appearances followed before guitarist Rickard Larsson and bassist Torbjörn Öhrling left the band in the summer. summer of 2001. Tomas Johansson joined the line-up as the new guitarist. Since the contract with Pulverized Records had expired, the band looked around for a new label and recorded a demo called Promo 2001 in the summer of 2001. As a result, the band reached a contract with the Italian label Code666 Records a few months later . In 2003 the album Indefinite Soul Extension was released on this label .
