Riots in North East Delhi

The riots in North East Delhi began on February 24, 2020 in northeast Delhi . In a series of violent incidents, 24 people were killed and around 189 injured. The death toll was later corrected to 53, two thirds of whom were Muslims .

The origins of the unrest are protests against the laws of the Citizenship Amendment Act , the National Register of Citizens (NRC) and the National Population Register (NPR).
