M.-Dominique Chenu Institute

The M.-Dominique Chenu Institute (IMDC), sponsored by the Dominican Order, is an independent philosophical and theological research center based in Berlin . It bears the name of the French council theologian Marie-Dominique Chenu OP (1895–1990). At the same time it is an institute (Instituto associato) of the Faculty of Social Sciences (FASS) of the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas (Pontificia Università San Tommaso d´Aquino, PUST) in Rome , as well as a member of the Working Group of Religious Universities (AGP) in the German-speaking area .

history

Marie-Dominique Chenu was a French Catholic theologian. Along with Yves Congar , Jean Daniélou and Henri de Lubac, he was one of the main exponents of Nouvelle Théologie . The association "ESPACES - Spirituality, culture and society in Europe" of the Dominicans founded 2000 in Schwedt street in Berlin, the Institute M.-Dominique Chenu as a research center and are there among other things in the series Collection Chenu writings by and about Chenu out.
